Kankakee Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Hanover Central on Wednesday. The Kougars were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Wildcats. The Kougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 5th (when they won 12-4).

Jessica Beauchamp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Julia Mahmet, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Patience Cole, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Kankakee Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Hanover Central, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kankakee Valley will square off against Harrison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hanover Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Andrean at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting 59ers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
