Soccer Recap: Bedford Takes a Loss

After flying high against Villa Angela-St. Joseph last Saturday, Bedford came back down to earth. The Bearcats fell 3-1 to the Woodridge Bulldogs on Thursday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Bedford couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Logan Mathews, who's now up to six this season.

Bedford has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season. As for Woodridge, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12-1.

Looking ahead, Bedford will welcome Cornerstone Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Woodridge, they will venture away from home to take on West Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Woodridge's defense better be ready for this one: West Branch have averaged an impressive 3.4 goals per game this season.
