Preview: Stewart County Rebels vs. McEwen Warriors
The Stewart County Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the McEwen Warriors at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Stewart County is hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Stewart County ended up a good deal behind Cheatham County Central and lost 71-54. Stewart County has not had much luck with Cheatham County Central recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, McEwen humbled Waverly Central with a 75-34 victory. Given McEwen's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Waverly Central is ranked 388th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stewart County's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for McEwen, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Stewart County suffered a grim 78-56 defeat to McEwen in their previous matchup back in November. Can Stewart County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
