Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lockport). They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging an 85-42 win over the Shepard Astros. Given the Porters' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Astros are ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lockport pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Shepard, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.

Coming up, Lockport will be playing at home against Sandburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lockport knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Sandburg likes a good challenge. As for Shepard, they will head out to face off against Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
