League recap: Krueger dominating on the mound for Catholic Central

Metro Classic league recap: 5/22/13

Kross Krueger was the best pitcher in Metro Classic this week, leading Catholic Central. He won two games and struck out nine batters.

Drew Butzer was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .600 average with seven RBIs. More went 3-2.

Racine Lutheran/prairie's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only five hits and zero walks, both of which led the league.

Although St. Joseph finished first in the league this week with 59 hits, St. Catherine's still sits atop the the league leaderboard with 217 total hits this season.

There were 16 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Jimmy Carrington, who collected four hits in five at bats for a .800 average.

The Angels' Shey Smith rapped six hits this week, raising his season total to 34, a number that leads the league.



Justin Williams drove in seven runners on Tuesday in the Lancers' 18-4 victory over the Hilltoppers. He went 3-for-5 and scored three runs.

Tegan Miles led Catholic Central to a win on May 18, as he notched 13 strikeouts to beat Martin Luther, 4-3. He gave up eight hits and three runs over eight innings of work.
