Baseball Recap: Hudson Hawks vs. Longmeadow Lancers
Hudson might've scored the first runs on Wednesday, but it was Longmeadow who claimed the real prize. The Hawks took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lancers 4-0 in the first period.
Joey Farrell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Thomas Roush was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Longmeadow, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.
Looking ahead, Hudson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Millbury at 7:00 p.m. The Woolies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Longmeadow does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
