Softball Recap: Guilford Comes Up Short

Belvidere hit Guilford with a seven-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Buccaneers, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 last Tuesday.

Guilford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amiyah Wyrick, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Guilford has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Belvidere, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.
