Basketball Recap: Gardendale Gets the Win

Gardendale was handed a 28-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Pleasant Grove Spartans out 59-56. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-59 back in November of 2024.

Pleasant Grove's loss came despite strong showings from Eithen Everson and Lealon Hunter. Everson posted 16 points, while Hunter had 17 points. The dominant performance gave Hunter a new career-high in points. Malik Dean was another key player, putting up eight points.

Gardendale's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-16. As for Pleasant Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14-1 record this season.

Gardendale has already played their next contest, a 46-43 loss against Leeds on the 30th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-43 defeat against Indian Springs on the 3rd.
