Gulf Coast won the last time they faced Canterbury and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sharks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. The victory was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on four straight.

While Gulf Coast won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 25-15.

Sophia Schultz paced Gulf Coast's offense, picking up 11 kills. Schultz got some help from Julianna Argueta and her 20 assists. Schultz also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Cassandra Maldonado, each putting up three.

Gulf Coast's record is now 19-4. As for Canterbury, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 9-9 record.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Gulf Coast and IMG Academy Royal will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canterbury, they will take on Palmetto Ridge in a tournament on Saturday.
