Soccer Recap: Belleville East Takes a Loss

Belleville East lost against Althoff Catholic back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lancers came up short against the Crusaders, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Belleville East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Althoff Catholic are ranked 20th).

This is the second loss in a row for Belleville East and nudges their season record down to 2-9-1. As for Althoff Catholic, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Belleville East will venture away from home to square off against Belleville West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Althoff Catholic, they will head out to take on Marquette Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
