Softball Recap: Slippery Rock Rockets vs. Grove City Eagles

Slippery Rock had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-11 to make it nine. They fell 8-3 to the Grove City Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-10 back in April.

Slippery Rock saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Madden, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run. Taylor Lucco also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

As for Grove City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Eight seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Grove City's side, the team relied heavily on Remi Stillwagon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Autumn Cook, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
