Recap: Columbine Rebels vs. Chatfield Chargers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Columbine Rebels had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 35-16 victory over the Chargers. Columbine's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Josh Snyder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns. Snyder is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Chatfield to a paltry 220 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Columbine's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out six times before it was all said and done. Chatfield's QB won't forget Hunter Hamilton anytime soon given Hamilton sacked him three times.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Mueller, who gained 106 total yards and a touchdown.
Columbine's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Chatfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Columbine will face off against Cherry Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cherry Creek will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. Chatfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
