Soccer Game Preview: Wilson vs. Poteet

Wilson is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Poteet is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Wilson Wildcats will host the Poteet Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Wilson earned a 4-2 victory over Spruce.

Meanwhile, Poteet kept a clean sheet against Samuell on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over the Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Poteet has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those eight contests. Wilson's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Wilson might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Poteet in their previous meeting back in February. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wilson was down 4-0.
