Softball Recap: Mountain Heritage Comes Up Short

Mountain Heritage and Swain County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mountain Heritage had to settle for second. They fell 6-2 to the Maroon Devils. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Maroon Devils from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain Heritage and nudges their season record down to 5-11. As for Swain County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Mountain Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Swain County, they will face off against Cherryville on Friday. The Maroon Devils are facing the Ironmen at the right time seeing as the Ironmen are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
