Soccer Recap: Gunnison Takes a Loss

After flying high against Alamosa last Thursday, Gunnison came back down to earth. The Cowboys took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Telluride Miners on Saturday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Gunnison couldn't quite close it out.

Gunnison's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-2. As for Telluride, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Coming up, Gunnison will square off against Delta at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gunnison are facing Delta at the right time seeing as Delta are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Telluride, they will challenge Crested Butte at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Telluride's defense better be ready for this one: Crested Butte have averaged an impressive 4.2 goals per game this season.
