Soccer Game Preview: Pine Tree vs. Sabine

The Pine Tree Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Sabine Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine Tree will be strutting in after a victory while Sabine will be coming in after a defeat.

Pine Tree's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Henderson with a sharp 4-0 win. Pine Tree haven't had any issues with Henderson recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Sabine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Kilgore. While losing is never fun, Sabine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Kilgore are ranked 34th).

Pine Tree's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Sabine, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Pine Tree might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Sabine in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
