Football Recap: Shiloh Christian Saints vs. Greenwood Bulldogs
Shiloh Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Greenwood Bulldogs 70-50 on Saturday. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Shiloh Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Griffin Mason led the charge by rushing for 162 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Mason has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Creighton, who threw for 289 yards and three TDs while completing 73.1% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shiloh Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 391 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Shiloh Christian's defensive line and their 6.5 sacks. Corbin Miller was especially locked on to Greenwood's QB and sacked him three times. Those three sacks set a new season-high mark for Miller.
When it comes to explaining why Greenwood lost, don't look at Kane Archer. Despite the final result, he rushed for 138 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Archer's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 135 rushing yards. Greenwood's leading receiver Cooper Bland was Archer's top target yet again, picking up 118 receiving yards and three TDs.
