Soccer Recap: Georgia Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cook last Tuesday, Georgia Christian came back down to earth. The Generals fell just short of the Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. It was the first time this season that Georgia Christian let down their fans at home.

Georgia Christian's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-3. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgia Christian will take on Southland Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Georgia Christian will be up against Southland Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.69 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they will square off against Deerfield-Windsor at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
