L.J. Koelzer gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in March of 2024 on Monday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Onaga is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Koelzer and Onaga will take on Doniphan West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Buffaloes will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 91 places lower in Kansas), but they're not letting that get them down.
