Softball Recap: Valley View Comes Up Short

Paragould hit Valley View with a five-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blazers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 7-6. Mackenzie Whitlock was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lynnli Jo Thomas, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Paragould, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.

Coming up, Valley View will venture away from home to challenge Kennett at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Blazers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Paragould, they will challenge Conway at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
