Softball Game Preview: Southwest Florida Christian King's vs. Community School of Naples Seahawks

The Southwest Florida Christian King will take on the Community School of Naples Seahawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Southwest Florida Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lely, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The King's pitcher stepped up to hand the Trojans a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the King's, who have now won five contests in a row.

Braelyn Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Natalie Recker was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Candice Chime, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Southwest Florida Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Community School of Naples made sure to put some runs up on the board against South Fort Myers on Tuesday. The Seahawks put the hurt on the Wolfpack with a sharp 22-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Seahawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Southwest Florida Christian's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Community School of Naples, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Everything went Southwest Florida Christian's way against Community School of Naples when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Southwest Florida Christian made off with a 24-0 victory.
