Basketball Recap: Hammond Takes a Loss

Hammond lost against River Hill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between the Hammond Golden Bears and the River Hill Hawks didn't end well, with the Hammond Golden Bears falling 56-42. The Golden Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River Hill had a senior duo take command as Justin Bishop went 6 of 11 en route to 17 points and six boards and Anderson Dang dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Bishop's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Nicholas Kogut was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for River Hill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Hammond wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-36 loss against Milford Mill Academy on the 13th. As for River Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-57 defeat against Howard on the 13th.
