Recap: Tri County Trojans vs. Fillmore Central Panthers
The Tri County Trojans were the 61-48 winner over the Fillmore Central Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tri County took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fillmore Central on Friday.
Tri County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caden Bales, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cameron Reynolds, who scored 11 points.
Daniel Stoner was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points for Fillmore Central. Stoner has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Kade Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Tri County's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Fillmore Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.
Tri County will head out on the road to square off against Thayer Central on Tuesday. Fillmore Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Elmwood-Murdock at 5:45 p.m. on January 20th. Elmwood-Murdock will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Fillmore Central is ranked 19th).
