Volleyball Recap: Chugiak Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Dimond

Chugiak faced Dimond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 2-1. The Mustangs have struggled against the Lynx recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Elise Kelley paced Chugiak's offense, picking up nine kills. Kelley got some help from Oliviya Rodriguez and her 27 assists. Audrey Parks controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Chugiak's loss dropped their record down to 28-13-1. As for Dimond, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-10-1 record this season.

Chugiak will head out to take on Bartlett at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dimond, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against South Anchorage on the 25th.
