Baseball Game Preview: Spring-Ford Rams vs. Boyertown Bears

The Spring-Ford Rams will square off against the Boyertown Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Spring-Ford sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Owen J. Roberts. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by just one run.

Dom Ruggiero looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Sedor, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. Cooper Nelson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Boyertown didn't have quite enough to beat Owen J. Roberts on Friday and fell 3-2.

The win made it two in a row for Spring-Ford and bumps their season record up to 2-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Boyertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Spring-Ford's way against Boyertown in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Spring-Ford made off with a 7-1 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
