Basketball Recap: South Carroll Comes Up Short

South Carroll lost against Manchester Valley back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Carroll Cavaliers took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manchester Valley Mavericks.

Manchester Valley was led to victory by Lilah Kresslein and Emma Penczek. Kresslein posted 17 points and three steals, while Penczek scored 12 points and five steals. Penczek is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Taylor Fique was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

South Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Manchester Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

The future could be bright for both South Carroll and Manchester Valley: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. South Carroll will try to hand Francis Scott Key their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Manchester Valley will look to extend Harford Tech's three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
