Gabe Erwin put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in May of 2024 on Wednesday. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Mathews back in April of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Erwin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Erwin and Maplewood will head out on the road to face off against John F. Kennedy Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
