Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walled Lake Central). Everything went their way against the Mott Corsairs on Saturday as they made off with a 20-8 victory. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on four straight.
Walled Lake Central got a massive performance out of Cameron Zaid, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Zaid a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Fick, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
Walled Lake Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive contests.
Walled Lake Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Mott, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
