Basketball Recap: Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hamilton Heights Christian Academy won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. 2025 welcomed they with a 67-43 loss courtesy of the DME Academy -. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 56-30 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

DME Academy was led to victory by Chikae Desdunes and Micaela Cavalcanti. Desdunes went 7 for 13 on her way to 21 points, while Cavalcanti went 5 of 6 on her way to 14 points and seven assists. Those 14 points gave Cavalcanti a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of GiGi Battle, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Hamilton Heights Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for DME Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Hamilton Heights Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Soddy Daisy at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for DME Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-58 win against Grind Prep on the 3rd.
