Soccer Game Preview: Citrus Hill vs. Paloma Valley

The Citrus Hill Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Paloma Valley Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Citrus Hill fell victim to Arlington and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Lions are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, Paloma Valley has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 19. They fell just short of Poly by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one goal.

Paloma Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1. As for Citrus Hill, they now have a losing record at 3-4-7.
