Basketball Recap: Whitharral Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wellman-Union last Tuesday, Whitharral came back down to earth. Whitharral took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Panhandle.

When it comes to explaining why Whitharral lost on Saturday, don't look at Nathaniel Sansom. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points. Sansom's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Rodriguez, who scored seven points.

Whitharral's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Panhandle, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Whitharral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-41 victory against Sands on the 17th. As for Panhandle, they will square off against Spearman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
