Volleyball Recap: Central Beats St. Michael the Archangel for Their Third Straight Win

Central took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against St. Michael the Archangel, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Guardians 2-1 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

When it comes to explaining why St. Michael the Archangel lost, don't look at Jonathan Koob. Despite the final result, he had 20 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Koob is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game. Rob Panek also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for St. Michael the Archangel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lee's Summit North on the 25th. Hopefully St. Michael the Archangel paid attention to the Indians' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
