Volleyball Game Preview: Pisgah Bears vs. Cherokee Braves

The Pisgah Bears will challenge the Cherokee Braves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Pisgah has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Cherokee will come in with six straight victories.

Pisgah lost 3-0 to West Henderson on Thursday.

While Pisgah was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-14.

Hayesville typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Cherokee proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 3-1.

Cherokee had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-23, 25-14, 26-24.

Cherokee's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Pisgah, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Pisgah couldn't quite get it done against Cherokee when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
