Softball Recap: Williams Valley Wins Going Away Against Halifax

Williams Valley won the last time they faced Halifax and things went their way on Monday too. Williams Valley blew past Halifax 14-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Sage Smeltz and Audrina Fry did most of the damage at the plate: Smeltz scored two runs while going 4-for-4, while Fry scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those four hits gave Smeltz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayla Hand, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Williams Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halifax only posted a batting average of .300.

Williams Valley's record is now 2-0. As for Halifax, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Williams Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Marian Catholic on the 25th. As for Halifax, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-9 defeat against Montgomery on the 26th.
