Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Gibson). Everything went their way against the Dyer County Choctaws on Tuesday as they made off with a 9-0 win. Given South Gibson's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Dyer County are ranked 291st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Gibson's offense was hitting Dyer County from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Isaac Scherer led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

South Gibson has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those eight games. As for Dyer County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-3.

South Gibson wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 0-0 draw against Madison on the 24th. As for Dyer County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-0 loss against Crockett County on the 25th.
