Soccer Game Preview: Albert Lea vs. Mayo

The Albert Lea Tigers will face off against the Mayo Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Albert Lea took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They never let Fairmont get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Mayo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Huskies.

Albert Lea's win bumped their record up to 4-5-3. As for Mayo, they now have a winning record of 5-4-2.

Albert Lea suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Mayo in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
