Basketball Game Preview: Copperas Cove Bulldawgs vs. Shoemaker Wolves

Copperas Cove hasn't had much luck against Shoemaker recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs will welcome the Shoemaker Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Copperas Cove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Copperas Cove turned things around against Killeen on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-46 victory over the Kangaroos.

Meanwhile, Shoemaker strolled past Temple with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 74-56. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Wildcats are ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Copperas Cove's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 9-12. As for Shoemaker, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Copperas Cove was dealt a bruising 76-45 loss at the hands of Shoemaker in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Copperas Cove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
