Soccer Recap: St. James Academy Starts Season with Loss at Home

St. James Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but St. James Academy couldn't quite close it out.

Blake Wilken and Avery Amis scored both of St. James Academy's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

St. James Academy didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Mill Valley on the 2nd. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against St. Pius X on the 2nd.
