Baseball Recap: Waverly Falls Short Against Ranked Gretna East

Waverly faced Gretna East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings fell 5-0 to the Griffins. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-2 loss on Monday.

Waverly got a good showing from Owen Glassburner, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Glassburner a new career-low in walks (zero).

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Gretna East, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-9.

As of now, neither Waverly nor the Griffins have any future games scheduled.
