Softball Recap: Pickerington North Triumphs

Pickerington North came out on top against Dublin Coffman on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Panthers took their contest against the Rocks 7-4.

ELLA HOWE spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, BRI ENGEL and MAKENNA HARTLEY did most of the damage at the plate: ENGEL went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while HARTLEY went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three RBI gave ENGEL a new career-high. Another player making a difference was KAYLANI MEADOWS, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pickerington North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.

Pickerington North's record is now 11-12-1. As for Dublin Coffman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Pickerington North and Dublin Coffman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 161st) will meet Dublin Jerome (ranked 391st) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Dublin Coffman will face off against Thomas Worthington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (124 vs. 413).
