Flag Football Recap: Whitewater Skates Past Drew with Ease

The Whitewater Wildcats humbled Drew with a 48-13 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Drew are ranked 168th) , the win on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jaelyn Stanley was a one-woman wrecking crew as she threw for 136 yards and four touchdowns while completing 86.4% of her passes, and also rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (139.4).

Whitewater didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Emma Morgan and Parker Sopp.

The victory made it two in a row for Whitewater and bumps their season record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points over those games. As for Drew, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Whitewater and Drew will both be playing Carrollton the next time they take the field. Drew will head out to face the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
