Baseball Recap: Spanish River Comes Up Short

Spanish River lost against American Heritage back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spanish River Sharks fell 9-4 to the American Heritage Stallions.

Roman Zabala was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Jesse Chimenti was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Spanish River's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for American Heritage, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

The future could be bright for both Spanish River and American Heritage: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Spanish River will try to hand Wellington their third-straight loss when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, American Heritage will look to extend Olympic Heights' 12-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
