Baseball Recap: Frankfort Takes a Loss

Frankfort had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it five. They fell 5-2 to the DuQuoin Indians. The Redbirds were not able to make up for their loss to the Indians from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for DuQuoin, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

For DuQuoin's part, the team relied heavily on Cy Craft, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Craft has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Max Zimmerman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Frankfort wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 win against Benton on the 14th. As for DuQuoin, they have also already played their next game, a 5-2 defeat against Johnston City on the 12th.
