Basketball Recap: Brynley Doty Key Part of Team Effort in Storm Win

Bureau Valley hadn't done well against Erie-Prophetstown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Storm came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 47-39. For the Storm, this counts as revenge for the 35-32 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Bureau Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brynley Doty, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Doty a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Helms, who posted 11 points.

Bureau Valley has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 53.5 points this season. As for Erie-Prophetstown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
