Despite the loss, Walton had strong showings from Wells Bettenhausen, who threw for 382 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80.6% of his passes, and Dreden Bembow, who picked up 141 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Bembow didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended a pass. A healthy portion of that aerial production (130 yards to be exact) also went to Brayden Sampson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Amari Clemons had an outrageously good game for Marianna as he rushed for 383 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 64 receiving yards. Clemons really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run. Rj Mayes was another key player, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Walton will challenge Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marianna, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they take on Liberty County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
