Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Takes a Loss

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 67-48 fall against the Four Corners Coyotes. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Explorers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-44 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jacob Andre went 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points and seven steals. Andre has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Bryan Lopez-Vergel was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.

It was another big night for Keshav Harpal, who posted 23 points for Four Corners. The team also got some help courtesy of Samir Dudley, who had 11 points.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Four Corners, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-7.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will take on Frostproof at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Four Corners, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-32 loss against Montverde Academy Purple on the 24th.
