The Colleton County Cougars were able to grind out a solid victory over the Airport Eagles on Tuesday, taking the game 5-1.

Bre Gerard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lanasia Sanders was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Xiomara Oxner, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Colleton County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Airport only posted a batting average of .160.

Colleton County's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Airport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

As of now, neither Colleton County nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
