Basketball Recap: Mather Takes a Loss

After flying high against Roosevelt last Saturday, Mather came back down to earth. The Mather Rangers fell just short of the Senn Bulldogs by a score of 49-46 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rangers have suffered since February 2nd.

When it comes to explaining why Mather lost, don't look at Adin Smajlovic. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The matchup was Smajlovic's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Chalwe, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Mather's record now sits at 3-3. As for Senn, with the victory, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5.

Mather will venture away from home to challenge Prosser at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mather is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season. As for Senn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chicago Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
