Basketball Recap: Buffalo Valley Takes Down Watts in a Playoff Battle

Buffalo Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 81-20 victory over the Watts Engineers. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buffalo Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raelea Johnson, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 16 points and four steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristyn Kirkes, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 17 points.

Buffalo Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Buffalo Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. As for Watts, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
