Baseball Recap: Cameron Takes a Loss

If Cameron was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Magnolia last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons fell just short of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cameron saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zayde Long, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Long has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Cameron's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Notre Dame, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

While Cameron had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
